When discovering K-pop for the first time and never being exposed to black people or black culture, one would probably think that these styles came from K-pop. K-pop is heavily influenced by black music and styles, there’s no denying that. I was curious to know what k-pop fans, black and non black, thought about this issue.
Is it okay for K-pop idols to wear their hair or dress in a certain way that’s not a part of their culture? When is it considered influence over culture appropriation? What crosses the line?
